Tourism - Karnataka- A case study

By virtue of its varied geography and long history, Karnataka hosts numerous spots of interest for tourists. There is an array of ancient sculptured temples, modern cities, scenic hill ranges, unexplored forests and endless beaches. Karnataka has been ranked as the fourth most popular destination for tourism among the states of India. Karnataka has the second highest number of nationally protected monuments in India, second only to Uttar Pradesh, in addition to 752 monuments protected by the State Directorate of Archaeology and Museums. Another 25,000 monuments are yet to receive protection.

Alongside heritage, culture, and natural splendors, Karnataka also boasts of Bangalore -- India's Silicon Valley, and a rapidly growing metropolis. In short, Karnataka has all else except snow and has much to offer discerning travellers, as well as tourism entrepreneurs.

There are lot of expo is expected to showcase the potential of Karnataka, spot new opportunities and identify areas of development in the tourism sector, but no one dont know how these kind of activities going to help in sustainable tourism. Because earlier there were strong positive projects on Kudremukh National park, but now what we have in that vicinity is everything doomed even Malpe (Udupi district), The Union Government has sanctioned Rs 6.4 crore for the development of beach tourism circuit along coastal Karnataka, no one knows what happend to that project. But some extent Jungle Lodges and Resort succeeded to provide some products like House boats in Devbagh but not up to the mark.

So whos is going to bell the cat.

There are lot about wildlife destinations fate coming up in this blog soon..
